Riverfront Park Updates

Construction is currently happening!

The approved Concept Plan for the park is show above. It includes the following key elements:

  • Curved Bike Bath/Traffic Calming/Levy Access Improvements
  • Additional 50 parking spots that remain open during events (250 spots in total in/around the park)
  • Permanent Amphitheater with tiered "seating" area & event storage space
  • Central "great lawn" for passive use and focal space for events
  • Nature-Based Playground and Inclusive Play Spaces
  • Retains the current interactive fountain, "eyebrow" and archway
  • Enhanced park amenities, landscaping, lighting and infrastructure for events

Miamisburg Community Foundation aims to raise over $1.5M to support park projects.

The Riverfront Park and Sycamore Trails Improvement Projects represent a historic investment in the Miamisburg Community. These two signature parks represent over $10  million in improvements designed to bring the community together through parks, play, events and recreation. The Miamisburg Community Foundation has launched the Be Part of It Campaign with a goal of raising $1.5M to support these critical projects within the community. FAQs

How will events be impacted in 2023?

Our goal is to not cancel any events in 2023, but there will be some modifications required, relocation or temporary adjustments needed. The decision to and timing for construction of the park will take into consideration the impact to events, but will be focused on completing construction before April 2024.

How long will construction take?

We anticipate construction to occur next year (likely spring/summer) and will take between 9-18 months. A better and more detailed timeline will be made available when its known.

Will we be able to visit the park during construction?

Based on where we are in design phase and what we know now, we do not have exact impacts identified, but it is likely that visiting the park will be impacted during construction. More details about impacts and timelines will be made available when they are known in more detail.

When will Miami Avenue be removed?

Based on where we are in design phase and what we know now, we can not confidently project exact timelines. We anticipate construction to occur next year (likely spring/summer) and will have impacts to park use and events during construction.
