The following rules are intended to protect everyone’s use and enjoyment of the Miamisburg Canal Run Dog Park. Please read through these rules before vising the park. Should there be an emergency, please call the Miamisburg Police Department at (937) 847-6600. These rules and phone number are also posted at the entrance of the park.
- This is an unsupervised dog park. Users of this facility do so at their own risk. Dog owners are legally responsible for their dogs and are liable for any injury or damage caused by their dog(s). The City of Miamisburg does not assume any responsibility for loss or injury.
- An active Miamisburg Canal Run Dog Park registration is required to enter the park.
- Upon registration, patrons will receive a Miamisburg Canal Run Dog Park key card. This card will be used to unlock the front gate to gain access to the park. Do not let other dogs into the park who do not have an active registration. Doing so will result in loss of your registration.
- No animals other than dogs are permitted in the fenced areas.
- A maximum of three dogs per owner/handler are permitted at any time.
- Pinch, choke and spike collars are prohibited.
- Gates are to be closed at all times.
- Clean up after your dog immediately. Dispose of the waste in the receptacles provided.
- Dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the park. Dogs must be unleashed while in the park unless being tended to by the owner.
- Owners must be within the dog park and supervising their dog with leash readily available.
- Owners are obligated to discourage their dogs from digging holes or behaving in a manner that could damage the park in any way.
- Dogs displaying aggressive behavior must be removed immediately.
- Dogs must be in view and within voice control of their owners at all times.
- Dogs must be fixed and immunized. Owners must submit proof of vaccination. Medical forms must be submitted before your registration will be approved. Medical information must include the expiration of Rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella for each dog. Your registration will not be approved without this information.
- All dogs must be spayed or neutered.
- Proof of vaccination must be kept current to renew registration.
- Puppies under 4 months of age are prohibited.
- No glass containers or food of any kind is permitted inside the park.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
- No smoking or vaping in the park.
- The park is open from dawn to dusk each day.
- Each dog area will be rotated at times to minimize wear and tear on the turf.
- Park may be closed during periods of heavy rain and wet conditions.
- Patrons may purchase a replacement card at the Miamisburg Community Center for $10.
- Failure to abide by these rules will result in loss of registration and patrons will be asked to leave the park.
