The City of Miamisburg is accepting applications for the full-time position of Facilities Supervisor for the Parks and Recreation Department.

The Facilities Supervisor leads and manages the facility maintenance operations of the Miamisburg Parks and Recreation Department which includes all City-owned public buildings, structures, and facility infrastructure systems. This individual will be focused on creating and implementing standard operating procedures, inspections, preventative maintenance, and work order management within the facility maintenance operations of the City of Miamisburg that ensure a safe, functional, and high-quality experience for all facility users and residents. The Facilities Supervisor oversees the facility maintenance of the City’s 16 public facilities, which include a variety of building uses, such as municipal office buildings, recreation facilities, park restrooms & shelters, aquatic centers, golf course clubhouses and various historic properties. He or she will lead a team of 3 full-time skilled positions, a crew leader and 2 facility maintenance workers equipped with an updated fleet of vehicles, equipment, and tools. Additionally, the maintenance team consists of a part-time facility maintenance position.

Due to the nature of facility use and maintenance requirements, it is expected this position will occasionally work evenings, weekends and is expected to respond during emergencies. A more complete Position Description can be requested from

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation for this position is $63,464.56-$81,411.18 annually DOQ with an excellent benefits package.

Education & Experience:

The Facilities Supervisor will be thoroughly committed to Miamisburg Recreation and Parks mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, relationship management, quality communication and problem-solving experience. All candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Business Management, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Leisure Studies or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience; and
  • A minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in Parks and Recreation, Facility Maintenance/Construction Management or Facility Operations, including documented experience in a supervisory and/or leadership role; and
  • A minimum of one (1) certification, equivalent training or licensure specific to area of focus, such as Certified Facility Manager or equivalent, certifications in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or general trades, Aquatic Facility Operator, or OSHA 10*; and
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; and
  • Operational knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suite software and ability to learn and use recreation and/or facility maintenance software; and
  • Operational knowledge and demonstrated skill in the operation of facilities maintenance equipment; and
  • A valid driver’s license; and
  • Be able to fulfill the physical demands of the position.

Candidates must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification* within six months of appointment  and must maintain certifications and licensures as a condition of employment.

 Additional Qualifications

•    Awareness of applicable state, federal and local ordinances, laws, rules, and regulations
•    Operational knowledge and demonstrated skill in the operation of facilities maintenance equipment, and
•    Facility Maintenance supervisory experience, including development, administration, and data-driven maintenance program evaluation skills 
•    Knowledge of all computer applications and hardware related to performance of the essential functions of the job 
•    Action-oriented, adaptable, and an innovative approach to facility maintenance
•    Knowledge of and experience with preventative maintenance, inspection and work order-based management systems, and/or creating/implementing maintenance standards in an organization.
•    Ability to conduct and complete projects, programs, and events in an organized, quality, and timely manner.
•    Ability to problem solve and communicate needs and changes effectively 
•    Ability to speak, read, and write in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction
•    Skill and comfort in making presentations to groups of varying size
