Facilities Crew Leader

The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking to fill the Full Time Facilities Crew Leader position. The Facility Crew Leader reports directly to the Facility Supervisor and plays an integral role in the fulfillment of Miamisburg Parks and Recreation’s mission and vision. This individual will assign, inspect, and supervise the work of the division employees under the general direction of the Facility Supervisor. Performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the operation and maintenance of facilities and facility maintenance equipment and will be expected to work both independently and under the direction or through coordination with others.  

In addition, this individual will provide training to employees of the division in various operations, maintain operational records and assists the Facility Supervisor in making recommendations regarding staffing, operations, capital projects and/or other needs of the division. All candidates should have the ability to supervise, inspect, and/or perform routine and preventive maintenance duties for facilities, in addition to maintaining accurate records.

This individual will communicate regularly with external and internal customers, both orally and in writing, to ensure responsiveness to facility needs and problems. We are looking for someone with a high degree of integrity, good professional judgement, motivation, positive attitude, and willingness to put in time and effort to successfully carry out the responsibilities of the position. Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies and be available to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Compensation & Benefits

Education & Experience:

    • Associate’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Business Management, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Leisure Studies or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience; and
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Parks and Recreation, Facility Maintenance/Construction Management or Facility Operations, including a minimum of one (1) year in a leadership role; and
    • Minimum of one (1) certification, equivalent training or licensure specific to area of focus, such as Certified Facility Manager or equivalent, certifications in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or general trades, Aquatic Facility Operator, or OSHA 10;* and
    • Effective oral and written communication skills; and
    • Operational knowledge and demonstrated skill in the operation of facilities maintenance equipment; and
    • Able to fulfill the physical demands of the position; and
    • Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification* within six months of appointment; and
    • Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license*.

    *Must maintain certifications and licensure as a condition of employment.
