Aquatic Manager
The City of Miamisburg is accepting applications for the full-time position of Aquatic Manager for the Parks and Recreation Department.
The Aquatic Manager reports to the Athletic Operations Supervisor and plays an integral role in the fulfillment of Miamisburg Parks and Recreation’s mission and vision. This individual will provide oversight of operations, pool preventative maintenance, customer service, and programming at Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center. The Aquatic Manager is responsible for ensuring the achievement of annual program and facility goals in revenue generation and participation with a focus on delivering a high-quality participant experience. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to the administration and management of the daily facility operation and customer experience at Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center, the development and implementation of robust programming including a learn-to-swim program, and hiring, training, and managing seasonal aquatic and concessions staff. The Aquatic Manager will work with local and school swim teams for water use. In addition, as a member of the Division of Recreation & Special Events, this individual will assist with community events.
Due to the nature of aquatic operations, it is expected this position will occasionally work evenings, weekends and is expected to respond during emergencies. A more complete Position Description can be requested from HR@cityofmiamisburg.com
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation for this position is a base pay of $23.64 – $29.76 / Hour DOQ with an excellent benefits package.
Education & Experience:
The Aquatic Manager will be thoroughly committed to Miamisburg Recreation and Parks mission to providing parks and recreation experiences that positively impact the community. All candidates should have the desire to execute programs, events and daily operations, providing a high level of customer service. All candidates shall have experience working in a customer-oriented setting, be comfortable delivering positive and constructive feedback to staff, and thrive in a teamwork environment. The Aquatic Manager will develop and/or execute a variety of programs, events, and initiatives for all department areas. The Aquatic Manager will manage all operational elements within the Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center in coordination with the Parks Facility Supervisor. Candidates will champion efforts to create space for the community to gather. All candidates must possess the following:
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of an associate’s degree in Parks & Recreation, Business Management, Project Management or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience; and
- A minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in Aquatic Facility Management or Programming, Recreation Programming, Event Management, Parks & Recreation Operations Management or related field, including documented experience in a supervisory and/pr leadership role; and
- Effective oral and written communication skills; and
Operational knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suite software and ability to learn and use recreation software; and - Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification* within six months of appointment; and
- Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license*; and
- Be able to fulfill the physical demands of the position
*Must maintain certifications and licensure as a condition of employment
