Canal Run Dog Park

Canal Run Dog Park is a new addition to the Miamisburg Community! This park is comprised of three fenced and secured areas organized by dog size. The park includes a water fountain for dogs and their humans, benches and dog waste stations. The entrance to the park is secured by a locking gate, followed by a fenced-in unleashing area. Canal Run Dog Park is also home to a new stage for events! For the health, safety and enjoyment of all; patrons must provide proof of current vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP and Bordetella), proof of spayed or neutered and pay an annual registration fee of $30/household. Renewal of the registration will be $20/household at the end of one year. Bring out your pups and have a howling good time!

You can register by clicking on the link below. Type dog park into the search bar and it will be the last option on the page. After registration is complete, please fill out the below form and attach your proof of up to date vaccinations and proof of spay or neuter. Once everything is received, a entry key card will be available for pick up at the ribbon cutting on June 28th starting at 4pm, 7am-12pm  June 29th at Bark in the Burg or at the Miamisburg Community Center’s front desk after June 29th.

Registration Form

How will the entry to the Park be enforced?
The main gate to the park will be an automatically locking gate. Each household will receive one key card to open the gate upon completion of registration. Staff and volunteers will also be monitoring the park each day to assist with any questions or situations.

Why does my dog have to be spayed or neutered? What if my vet recommends against it?
While many unaltered dogs are very well behaved, some can be aggressive if they are not spayed or neutered. Additionally, the combination of un-neutered dogs with a female dog in heat could cause quite the commotion. There will be no acceptions on dogs who are not spayed or neutered.

Do you require an active registration to enter the Dog Park?
Yes. However; events will be hosted at the dog park periodically that is open to the public. At these events all dogs are welcome to come and play. These events are a great chance to try out the dog park and see if it is a good fit for your pup and your family.

How is this park being funded?
The Miamisburg Community Foundation has deemed Canal Run Dog Park a signature project and will be supporting the build of the park. A GoFund me campaign was set up earlier in the year to raise additional private funds for the Miamisburg Community Foundation.

When does the ‘One Year’ registration start?
Each registration will start on the day your registration is approved. Renewal is one year from approved registration date. For those registering before the June 28th opening date, your registration will begin on June 28th.

What about my puppy?
A dog park is not always the best place for younger dogs. They are higher energy, making it more difficult to work on commands, socialization and appropriate play. There are many opportunities to socialize your dogs without going to the dog park and then they can attend once they meet the requirements of being spayed or neutered.

Lost key cards can be replaced for a fee of $10 each.
